Fabricating stories about celebrity encounters has become a strange online pastime, and this user thought he could join the ranks of successful trolls. He shared a tall tale about meeting Harry Styles at a baseball game and receiving a $100 bill, but he was discredited by the source himself.
Styles personally commented on the post, stating he wasn’t even at the game. While the lie was exposed, the user did technically get what he wanted: a direct interaction with a global superstar, even if it was to call him a liar.
