Aaliyah Dana Haughton was a child prodigy who released her debut album at age 15 and quickly became an R&B and pop superstar. She also starred in films likeRomeo Must DieandQueen of the Damned, proving she was a triple threat.
Aaliyah tragically died at 22 in a plane crash in the Bahamas after filming a music video. The small aircraft was overloaded and crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all nine on board. Her music, style, and pioneering spirit continue to influence artists worldwide more than two decades later.
